Latitude Boreal was founded by husband and wife Sofia and Javier — lifelong travelers united by a shared passion for exploration, nature, culture and meaningful experiences.

Originally from Spain, their journey together began in Barcelona nearly two decades ago.

Since then, life has taken them across continents and cultures: from New York and London to Chile and Peru, where they eventually built both their family and their vision for Latitude Boreal.

Sofia grew up surrounded by travel from an early age.
Born into a multicultural family with roots across Spain and Argentina, movement, curiosity and discovery became part of her identity from childhood.

Having lived in Europe, North and South America, and after years exploring Latin America extensively, she developed a profound emotional connection to the region — its landscapes, cultures, energy and extraordinary diversity.

Before entering the world of luxury travel, Sofia worked in investment banking. Years later, seeking a more meaningful path, she transitioned into travel design while also deepening her personal journey through wellness and mindfulness, becoming a certified yoga teacher.

Her philosophy today is simple:

Javier, an industrial engineer and entrepreneur, shares the same passion for discovery, adventure and the natural world. Together, they have explored Latin America through an active and immersive lens: trekking, rafting, navigating remote landscapes and seeking authentic encounters far beyond conventional travel.

Together, they created Latitude Boreal with one vision:
